N’Joy Pothos (Epipremnum aureum 'N'Joy') is a compact, variegated variety of pothos known for its striking, heart-shaped leaves that feature a mix of white, cream, and green patterns. Unlike the traditional golden pothos, N’Joy has a more subtle, marble-like variegation with the white or creamy parts contrasting against the rich green, giving it a fresh, elegant look. It's an easy-to-care-for, low-maintenance houseplant that thrives in low to bright indirect light, though it maintains its best variegation with more light. Like other pothos, it is tolerant of occasional neglect, requiring watering when the top 1–2 inches of soil dry out. It also tolerates dry air and is known for its air-purifying qualities. This variety is slower-growing than its counterparts but can still be trained to climb or cascade from hanging baskets, making it a versatile and attractive addition to any indoor space

  1. Light: N'Joy pothos does well in bright, indirect light, which helps maintain its beautiful variegation. While it can tolerate lower light conditions, the variegated areas may turn more green, losing some of their contrast. Avoid direct sunlight, as it can scorch the leaves, especially the lighter-colored areas.

  2. Watering: Water the plant when the top 1–2 inches of soil feel dry to the touch. Overwatering is a common mistake, so ensure the pot has good drainage to prevent water from sitting at the bottom. In general, N'Joy pothos prefers to dry out slightly between waterings. In the winter months, when growth slows, reduce watering to avoid waterlogging the roots.

  3. Humidity: While N'Joy pothos is relatively adaptable to average indoor humidity, it does benefit from higher humidity, especially in very dry environments. If you notice the leaves browning at the edges, increasing humidity with a humidity tray, misting, or using a humidifier can help improve the plant’s health.

  4. Temperature: This pothos variety prefers warm temperatures between 65–85°F (18–29°C). Avoid placing it near cold drafts, air conditioners, or heaters, as extreme temperature fluctuations can stress the plant and cause leaf damage.

  5. Soil: N'Joy pothos thrives in a well-draining potting mix. A standard indoor potting mix will work fine, or you can mix in some perlite or orchid bark to increase drainage. It's important not to let the plant sit in waterlogged soil, as this can lead to root rot.

  6. Fertilizing: During the growing season (spring and summer), feed your N'Joy pothos with a balanced, liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength about once a month. Reduce fertilizing in the fall and winter when the plant's growth slows down.

  7. Pruning: N'Joy pothos is a vining plant, and while it doesn’t grow as quickly as some other pothos varieties, it may need occasional pruning to control its size and encourage fuller growth. Trim any long, leggy vines or yellowing leaves with clean, sharp scissors or pruning shears. Regular pruning can also help the plant branch out and become bushier.

  8. Repotting: N'Joy pothos grows relatively slowly, so it doesn’t require frequent repotting. Repot every 1–2 years or when the roots outgrow the pot. Choose a container that is just slightly larger than the current one to give the roots room to grow without retaining excess moisture.

  9. Pest Control: While generally pest-resistant, pothos can occasionally be affected by aphids, spider mites, or mealybugs. Regularly inspect the leaves for pests, and treat with insecticidal soap or neem oil if necessary.

With these simple care guidelines, your N'Joy pothos will thrive, adding a touch of elegance to your home with its attractive, variegated leaves and trailing vines. It's a perfect plant for both beginners and seasoned gardeners looking for a low-maintenance but eye-catching addition to their ind
